Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a significant hike in passenger bus fares after nearly five years, increasing ticket prices by 60% to 75% across various categories. According to the latest notification issued by the Transport Department, the fare for ordinary buses has been revised from \u20b91.25 per km to \u20b92.00 per km, while the minimum fare has been increased from \u20b97 to \u20b910.<\/p>\n

Under the revised fare structure, night service buses will charge 10% extra, non-AC deluxe buses 25% extra, sleeper buses 40% extra, AC deluxe buses 50% extra, and super luxury AC coaches up to 75% extra over the ordinary bus fare.<\/p>\n

The fare hike is expected to have the greatest impact on long-distance travelers. A 100-kilometre journey that earlier cost around \u20b9125 will now cost nearly \u20b9200. However, city bus fares remain unchanged, providing relief to local commuters.
