Faridabad: Police arrested seven suspected members of an interstate Pardhi gang linked to Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Guna district after an encounter near Sotai village in Faridabad\u2019s Ballabhgarh Sadar area. Two suspects were shot in the legs after allegedly opening fire while trying to escape. Both were taken to B.K. Hospital for treatment. One of the arrested suspects is reportedly a criminal carrying a reward of \u20b915,000.<\/p>\n

Encounter Near Sotai Village<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A Crime Branch team from Sector 16 reportedly surrounded the suspects on the road leading to Sotai village. According to police, the suspects opened fire when officers attempted to stop them. Police returned fire, injuring two suspects in the legs.<\/p>\n

The two injured men were arrested and admitted to B.K. Hospital. Five other suspects who allegedly attempted to flee were also apprehended, bringing the total number of arrests to seven.<\/p>\n

Gang Allegedly Used Slingshots to Identify Empty Houses<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Police said the gang used slingshots and marbles as part of its burglary method. The suspects allegedly fired marbles at the windows of houses and waited to see whether anyone responded.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If there was no response and the house appeared unoccupied, the gang allegedly attempted to enter and steal valuables. Police believe the method helped the suspects determine whether residents were inside before committing a burglary.<\/p>\n

Investigation Underway<\/p>\n

The suspected gang members are reportedly linked to criminal activities in Madhya Pradesh and other states. Police are questioning the accused about their alleged involvement in previous burglaries, other gang members and the wider network.<\/p>\n

Investigators are also working to determine whether the suspects are connected to additional cases in Faridabad and nearby areas.<\/p>\n
