A shocking incident of alleged violence against women has come to light in Piprodа Keshraj village under Cantt police station limits in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district. Three women—a mother, her daughter and daughter-in-law—were allegedly brutally assaulted following a longstanding land dispute and an objection to maize theft.
According to the allegations, the accused forcibly dragged the women inside a house, beat them with kicks and punches, and tore their clothes. The incident has sparked concern after a video purportedly showing the assault went viral on social media.
Dispute Over Land and Maize Theft
Preliminary information suggests that an old land dispute and opposition to the alleged theft of maize triggered the confrontation. The accused allegedly targeted the women and girls returning home, forcibly pulling them from the road before assaulting them.
The allegations have raised serious concerns about the safety of women and the use of violence to settle personal disputes.
Police Register Case Under SC/ST Act
Following the incident and the circulation of the video on social media, police registered a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other relevant legal provisions.
