A major political controversy erupted in Patna, Bihar, after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made a controversial remark targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event marking the 139th birth anniversary of Dr. Shri Krishna Singh.

The incident triggered a heated exchange at the venue, with tensions escalating after a person in the audience reportedly challenged Kharge’s remarks about the Prime Minister. A scuffle-like situation followed, and some Congress workers were seen allegedly assaulting the person who raised the objection.

Controversial Remark Triggers Uproar

While addressing the gathering, Kharge was criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi when a person reportedly remarked that Modi would not go anywhere. In response, Kharge said, “Modi ka baap bhi jayega” (Even Modi’s father will go).

The remark immediately sparked an uproar at the event. The situation grew tense as objections were raised, and visuals reportedly showed Congress workers confronting the individual who had challenged the Congress chief.

Kharge Calls SIR Protest the “Second Freedom Struggle”

During his speech, Kharge described the protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as the “second freedom struggle.” He demanded that the exercise be stopped immediately and called for the use of ballot papers in all future elections.

The controversy has once again brought political rhetoric and the ongoing debate over electoral procedures into the spotlight. Kharge’s remarks and the reported confrontation at the Patna event are likely to intensify the political debate between the Congress and the BJP.
