**Health Minister Irfan Ansari Demands Public Apology; BJP MLA Purnima Sahu Hits Back, Claims Image Is AI-Generated**

A political controversy has erupted in Jharkhand over an incident during Dussehra in Jamshedpur, in which an artist playing Lord Hanuman was seen touching the feet of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das. The incident has triggered a war of words between state Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari and BJP MLA Purnima Sahu, who is also Raghubar Das’s daughter-in-law.
### Irfan Ansari Demands Public Apology, Warns of Protest
Dr Irfan Ansari took to social media to express his objection to the incident and demanded a public apology from Raghubar Das.
In his post, Ansari wrote, “You have already swallowed Jharkhand; at least spare the devotees.” He accused the former Chief Minister of displaying arrogance of power and said that Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman are symbols of faith for crores of people.
Ansari questioned the conduct surrounding the incident, arguing that the matter was sensitive because the artist was portraying a revered religious figure. He demanded that Raghubar Das publicly apologise and warned that a phased protest would be launched if the apology was not forthcoming.
### BJP MLA Purnima Sahu Hits Back
Reacting sharply to Ansari’s remarks, Jamshedpur East BJP MLA Purnima Sahu criticised the minister and asked him to reflect on his own statements and political conduct before lecturing others on humility and dignity.
She said describing someone as Ravana reflected political frustration and accused the minister of turning the incident into a political controversy.
Purnima further alleged that the photograph of the incident had been presented without its full context. She also claimed that the image used in the minister’s social media post was AI-generated, arguing that political differences should not become an excuse for damaging someone’s reputation.
### Photograph’s Authenticity Becomes a Point of Contention
Purnima Sahu maintained that drawing conclusions without understanding the complete circumstances was inappropriate, particularly when the matter involved a sensitive religious occasion.
The authenticity of the image and the context in which the incident occurred have now become central points of disagreement between the two sides. However, the claim that the image was AI-generated has not been independently verified.
### Religious Episode Turns Into Political Flashpoint
The controversy has intensified following the exchange of accusations between the minister and the BJP MLA. While Ansari has raised questions about religious sentiments and propriety and demanded a public apology, Purnima Sahu has challenged his allegations and questioned the authenticity and presentation of the photograph.
