On the opening day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, India’s capital witnessed heightened security as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) organized its ‘Chalo Sansad’ (March to Parliament) protest. Thousands of demonstrators gathered at Jantar Mantar before attempting to march toward Parliament House.
Delhi Police deployed heavy security personnel, barricaded key routes, and fired tear gas shells after protesters tried to breach security barricades near Parliament. Rapid Action Force (RAF) and additional paramilitary forces were stationed at sensitive locations across the city.
Security was also tightened at the Singhu border and other entry points into Delhi, where vehicles were thoroughly checked. Authorities temporarily suspended mobile internet services in selected areas to prevent the spread of rumors and maintain law and order.
Traffic movement was affected in several parts of central Delhi due to the protest and security arrangements. Delhi Police urged residents to follow official advisories and avoid unnecessary travel near Parliament and other restricted zones.
