Kanwar Yatra 2026: Non-Veg Shops to Remain Closed for 14 Days on Shamli Kanwar Route, Strict DJ Rules Enforced

Ahead of Kanwar Yatra 2026, the Shamli district administration has announced a series of strict measures to ensure a peaceful and well-organized pilgrimage. As part of the arrangements, all meat, fish, egg shops, and non-vegetarian hotels located along the Kanwar route will remain closed from July 30 to August 12.
The Nagar Palika Parishad, along with the police administration, conducted inspections on key stretches of the Kanwar route, including Fawwara Chowk, Azad Chowk, MSK Road, and the Eastern Yamuna Canal Road. Notices have been issued to all affected shopkeepers, directing them to comply with the closure orders during the 14-day pilgrimage.
Authorities have also implemented strict regulations on DJ sound systems, traffic movement, and security arrangements. Surveillance will be intensified, and additional police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of devotees and maintain law and order throughout the yatra.
