29 Cattle Rescued, 2 Found Dead; Goods Worth ₹28.5 Lakh Seized
Guna, Madhya Pradesh: In a major crackdown on illegal cattle smuggling, Guna Police recovered 31 cattle from a container fitted with a fake registration number plate and arrested four accused from Rajasthan. During the operation in Chanchoda, 29 cattle were rescued alive, while two were found dead inside the overcrowded container.
The arrested accused have been identified as Iqbal, Saddam Hussain, Sajid, and Rashid Mohammad, all residents of Tonk district, Rajasthan. Police investigation revealed that the container was carrying a fake number plate to conceal its identity.
The police seized the rescued cattle and the container, with the total value of the recovered property estimated at ₹28.5 lakh. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
