Rajgarh/Talen: A land dispute over a 30×30 feet plot in Iklara village of Rajgarh district turned violent on Sunday, with an ASI allegedly opening fire during an altercation. One youth died after sustaining a bullet injury, while two others were reportedly injured. The incident created panic in the area.
According to preliminary information, ASI Dilip Kumbhkar, posted in Shujalpur, was allegedly involved in the firing. Police have detained the accused officer and started an investigation.
The dispute reportedly involved a 30×30 feet plot belonging to Gulab Bai, a widow. Deepak Ahirwar allegedly wanted to purchase the land, while ASI Kumbhkar was accused of occupying the disputed plot.
Dispute Escalated After Funeral
Reports suggest that Deepak Ahirwar was returning from a funeral ceremony when an argument broke out with the ASI over the disputed property. The confrontation allegedly escalated, leading to gunfire.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and took the accused ASI into custody. The exact circumstances behind the firing, the identity of those responsible, and the cause of the dispute are being investigated. Further details are awaited from the police.
