Gonda: Rats Chew Up Cash Worth ₹12 Lakh Saved by Woman for 8 Years

A shocking incident has come to light from Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman reportedly lost cash worth around ₹12 lakh after rats allegedly chewed up the currency notes.
According to the information, the woman had been secretly saving money in a trunk for the past eight years, with the intention of using it to buy gold. Recently, when she decided that it was finally time to purchase the jewellery, she opened the trunk and was left stunned after finding the currency notes badly damaged and torn into pieces.
The woman then informed her husband about the incident. The family is now collecting and counting the remaining pieces of the damaged currency notes to determine the actual loss.
The unusual incident has left the family shocked and has also raised questions about the safe storage of cash at home.
