Supreme Court Refuses to Stay High Court Order in Dhar Bhojshala Case, Directs Friday Prayer Arrangement

The Supreme Court has refused to stay the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s order in the long-running Dhar Bhojshala dispute, while directing the administration to ensure a peaceful arrangement for both communities.
The court instructed authorities to provide a suitable open space for Friday prayers between 1 PM and 3 PM, while allowing Hindu worship to continue as per the existing arrangement.
The Muslim side had argued that prayers had been offered at the site for centuries and sought restoration of the earlier status. However, the Supreme Court did not suspend the High Court’s decision and emphasized maintaining law and order and communal harmony.
The case remains one of the most closely watched religious disputes in Madhya Pradesh, with further legal proceedings expected in the coming months.
