New Delhi/Jind: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off India’s first indigenous hydrogen-powered train from Jind railway station in Haryana. The train will operate on the 89-km Jind–Sonipat route, marking a major step toward clean and sustainable rail transport.
Developed under the Make in India initiative, the hydrogen fuel cell train features 10 modern coaches, can carry around 2,600 passengers, and produces only water vapor, ensuring near-zero carbon emissions. The project is expected to strengthen India’s green mobility mission and support its Net Zero goals.
