During the Parliament Monsoon Session 2026, Opposition MPs staged a massive protest inside the Parliament complex over the NEET Paper Leak Case and the alleged police action against students. Dressed in black, Opposition leaders gathered at the Makar Dwar of Parliament and raised slogans against the Central Government, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protest was led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Members of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Trinamool Congress (TMC), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Left parties. The Opposition alleged that the government was avoiding accountability over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the police action against protesting students.
Parliament Proceedings Repeatedly Disrupted
The uproar by Opposition members led to repeated disruptions in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Opposition demanded a detailed discussion on the NEET paper leak case, strict action against those responsible, and accountability from Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Opposition Targets Government
Addressing the protest, Opposition leaders said that the future of millions of students had been put at risk and urged the government to provide clear answers. They described the issue as a matter of national importance concerning India’s education system and youth, reiterating their demand for a comprehensive debate in Parliament.
