In a major development in the online cricket betting case registered in Bamori, Guna district, the District Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Sheetal Chourasiya (42), a resident of Mhow, Indore district. The court observed that the investigation is still in progress and granting anticipatory bail at this stage would not be appropriate.
According to police, on April 3, a raid was conducted near Gaddeya Nala on Bamori Road, where Mohsin Ali (29) and Saeed Ali (35), both residents of Bamori, were arrested for allegedly operating an online cricket betting racket. During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed the names of Pradeep Thakur (42), a resident of Juni Indore, and Sheetal Chourasiya, claiming they had provided the online betting IDs.
Based on the investigation, police named Sheetal Chourasiya as an accused in the case. She is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest her. Following the court’s rejection of her anticipatory bail plea, police are expected to intensify efforts to secure her arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
