Witness ‘Fixing’ Exposed in Indore Police: 4 TIs Demoted After Major Departmental Action

Indore: In a major crackdown, Indore Police has taken disciplinary action against four former station in-charges following investigations into repeated use of identical witnesses and other departmental irregularities. Former TI Dinesh Verma was found responsible for using similar witnesses in nearly 700 cases involving gambling, betting and the Arms Act. He has been demoted from TI to Sub-Inspector. TI Indramani Patel was removed from the police station after around 1,350 cases reportedly showed repeated use of the same four witnesses. Former TIs Ajay Verma and Ravindra Gurjar were also demoted to Sub-Inspector over separate procedural lapses, including delayed FIR registration and allegations of improperly involving minors in betting cases.
