40 Passengers Stranded as Steamer Runs Out of Diesel in Chambal River

Bhind, Madhya Pradesh: Panic gripped passengers in Bhind on Sunday after a steamer carrying around 35-40 people became stranded in the middle of the Chambal River when it ran out of diesel. The vessel began drifting amid the strong current, creating a tense situation. The steamer was reportedly operating from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. After receiving information, the local administration quickly arranged diesel and transported it to the vessel by boat. The steamer was restarted and all passengers were safely brought to the riverbank. However, the incident raised serious safety concerns as passengers reportedly did not have adequate life jackets. Authorities are investigating the safety arrangements and operation of the steamer.
