Amit Shah Attacks Sonia Gandhi Over Vande Mataram Row: “Congress Should Apologise to the Nation”

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a sharp attack on the Congress over the reported controversy surrounding the singing of “Vande Mataram” at the party headquarters on Independence Day. Shah alleged that Congress leaders stopped the national song midway and questioned the conduct of party leaders during the programme.

According to Shah, the incident has been witnessed by the country and Congress should be ashamed of it. He said that if there is still a sense of remorse among Congress leaders, they should join hands and apologise to the nation and the legacy of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

The controversy comes amid nationwide events marking 150 years of Vande Mataram. The song has been at the centre of renewed political discussion, with the government highlighting its historical role in India’s freedom struggle.

Shah’s remarks have intensified the political debate between the BJP and Congress over the national song, patriotism and the legacy of the freedom movement.
