Train Theft Near Guna: Five Passengers Robbed as Jodhpur–Bhopal Express Stops at Outer Signal

Guna, Madhya Pradesh: A daring theft took place aboard the Jodhpur–Bhopal Express after the train halted at the outer signal near Ruthiyai railway station in Guna district on Wednesday night. Taking advantage of the unscheduled stop, unidentified thieves allegedly reached through the coach windows and stole gold jewellery from women passengers while also taking a backpack containing important documents.
According to passengers, the stolen items included gold earrings, a mangalsutra, a gold chain weighing around two tolas, and a bag belonging to a young man travelling to Bhopal for the Madhya Pradesh Police Band recruitment examination. The bag contained an ATM card, Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, educational certificates, and other essential documents.
The total value of the stolen property is estimated at ₹1.35 lakh. Following the incident, passengers alerted railway authorities by pulling the emergency chain. The Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 304(2) and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to identify the accused.
