In a major development in the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, the Supreme Court of India has cancelled the bail granted to the prime accused, Sonam Raghuvanshi. The apex court has directed her to surrender within three weeks.

The Supreme Court observed that the bail granted by the High Court was not legally sustainable, stating that alleged procedural lapses in informing the accused about the grounds of arrest could not justify the grant of bail in such a serious case.

The Court also directed the investigating agency and the trial court to complete the trial within six months. It clarified that if the trial is not concluded within the stipulated period, Sonam Raghuvanshi will be at liberty to file a fresh bail application.
