Ujjain: Panic and chaos broke out near Harsiddhi Chauraha in Ujjain on Monday after a rumour of an electric current spreading in the area triggered fear among devotees. A stampede-like situation developed as a large crowd gathered near the Mahakaleshwar Temple area. Several devotees were reportedly injured in the incident.
The situation became tense as people rushed to safety, creating confusion and panic at the spot. Police and administrative teams immediately reached the area and took steps to control the crowd. A large number of devotees had gathered in Ujjain to visit the Nagchandreshwar Temple and offer prayers.
Authorities appealed to devotees not to believe rumours and to maintain calm. Officials are monitoring the situation closely.
