Under the strong and sensitive leadership of Guna Superintendent of Police, Shri Ankit Soni, the Guna Police are conducting continuous and effective operations against mafias, illicit traders, smugglers, and others involved in various illegal and unethical activities across the district. In furtherance of these efforts—and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police, Shri Mansingh Thakur, and the supervision of SDOP (Guna), Shri Vivek Asthana—the Fatehgarh Police Station team took action against illicit liquor trafficking last night, arresting a liquor smuggler who was transporting illicit, toxic liquor on a motorcycle.

Notably, during a combing patrol last night, the Fatehgarh Police received a tip-off from an informant stating that an individual, riding a black Hero Splendor motorcycle (Registration No. MP08 MY 6855), was traveling from the direction of Kohan village towards Fatehgarh town, carrying illicit, toxic liquor—distilled using the traditional “Handbhatti” method—in a plastic can. Upon receiving this intelligence regarding illicit liquor smuggling within their jurisdiction, a police team from the Fatehgarh station immediately proceeded to the Charasya village turn to verify the information and take action; they lay in ambush, awaiting the arrival of the suspicious motorcycle. Shortly thereafter, as the said motorcycle approached, the police force acted with great vigilance; giving the rider no opportunity to escape, they swiftly cordoned him off and apprehended him. Upon interrogation, the individual identified himself as Lakhan, son of Bhagwan Singh Audh, aged 20, a resident of Pathar Mohalla, Fatehgarh, District Guna. A subsequent inspection of the can strapped to his motorcycle revealed that it contained a total of 30 liters of illicit, toxic liquor, distilled using the “Handbhatti” method. The police duly seized illicit liquor valued at ₹4,500—recovered from the accused’s possession—along with a Hero Splendor motorcycle valued at ₹60,000, which was used in its smuggling; the total seized property amounts to ₹64,500. Subsequently, the accused was arrested, and a case—Crime No. 50/26—has been registered against him under Sections 34 and 49A of the Excise Act at the Fatehgarh Police Station, and the matter has been taken up for investigation.

The Fatehgarh Police personnel played a commendable role in this operation against illicit liquor. The team included Station In-charge Sub-Inspector Abhishek Tiwari, Assistant Sub-Inspector Jasrath Diwakar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Dilip Raghuvanshi, Head Constable Prem Gwal, Head Constable Chandrasen Phalke, Head Constable Sarnam Singh, Head Constable Hariom Kirar, Constable Hariom Parmar, Constable Sunil Asaiya, Constable Brijendra Kushwah, Constable Govind, Constable Divyansh Bhargav, Constable Kuldeep, Constable Kanjraj, and Constable Brijmohan, along with Constable Kuldeep Yadav and Constable Bhupendra Khatik from the Cyber Cell.
