Leopard Found Mutilated in Guna Forest, Poaching Suspected

Dwarka News | Guna
A mutilated leopard carcass was discovered in the Bhadaura forest range of Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, triggering concerns of wildlife poaching. The animal’s head, all four legs, and parts of its skin were missing, raising suspicion that it was killed for its claws and teeth.
The body was spotted by villagers, who alerted the Forest Department. Officials reached the spot, recovered the remains, and sent them for post-mortem while launching an investigation.
Locals have questioned how such an incident went unnoticed despite regular forest patrols. District authorities have ordered a detailed probe to identify those responsible.
Under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, poaching a leopard is a serious criminal offence, and strict legal action will be taken if foul play is confirmed.
