Chhatarpur Anganwadi Recruitment Scam: Top Merit Candidate Allegedly Denied Job for Refusing Bribe, Sting Raises Serious Questions
Lead Story | Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh

A major controversy has erupted over the Anganwadi recruitment process in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, with allegations of bribery and irregularities casting serious doubts on the fairness of the selection process. The case gained attention after a purported sting operation and video surfaced, allegedly exposing discussions related to illegal payments during recruitment.
According to media reports, the candidate who secured the highest rank on the merit list for the Pehra Anganwadi Centre under the Rajnagar project was allegedly denied appointment for refusing to pay a bribe, while another candidate with lower marks was selected instead.
The reports further allege that District Programme Officer (DPO) Dinesh Dixit and middlemen were involved in demanding money from candidates. Allegations suggest that illegal payments ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹2 lakh were sought for appointments across multiple Anganwadi posts in the district.
The allegations are currently under scrutiny, and no official findings have confirmed them. The controversy has sparked demands for a transparent investigation and strict action against anyone found guilty.
